How Eco Kitty started
The first thoughts of Eco Kitty came to me many moons ago when snorkelling. I’d be on the beach and hear people say “There’s nothing down there to see.” I would think “What? You just snorkelled where I was a half hour ago. I found ….” It seemed to me people expected to see schools of pretty fish swimming about and animals doing ‘stuff’, like on the TV. It would be great if this did happen, but it is not always the case. It may be the wrong time of year, the type of habitat present, animal camouflage, over harvesting, habitat degradation, pollution etc. It took me many trips to Portsea before I saw my first, and only, Weedy Seadragon. Later in life, when doing my Environmental Science degree, thoughts, of what was to become Eco Kitty, started to swirl around in my head once again. Then one day I sat down and started to put pen to paper and this is the result.
I hope you find Eco Kitty to be a place where you can learn, find information and have some fun while exploring the non-manmade part of our planet.
